What Does the Error Result Show?

The Error tab displays the difference between the measured battery voltage and the voltage predicted by the battery model throughout the simulation. It helps users evaluate the accuracy of the model and identify deviations between the predicted and measured responses.

Purpose

Use this tab to:

  • Evaluate the accuracy of the battery model.
  • Assess the performance of the parameter extraction and simulation.
  • Identify deviations between the predicted and measured voltage.

Displayed Information

The Error tab typically includes the following performance metrics:

  • RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) – Measures the overall prediction error.
  • Mean Absolute Error (MAE) – Represents the average magnitude of the prediction error.
  • Maximum Error – Indicates the largest deviation observed during the simulation.

Validation

Review the error metrics and error profile to ensure that:

  • Error values remain low throughout the simulation.
  • No significant spikes or abnormal deviations are present.
  • The predicted voltage closely follows the measured voltage.

Lower error values indicate better agreement between the battery model and the measured data, reflecting improved model accuracy.
