# What Does the Software Do?

The Battery Software is a battery characterization and State of Charge (SOC) estimation platform that extracts equivalent circuit model (ECM) parameters from experimental battery test data.

Using Hybrid Pulse Power Characterization (HPPC) and charge/discharge OCV (capacity) datasets, the software identifies battery electrical characteristics, generates a second-order Thevenin battery model, and performs battery simulation and SOC estimation using Coulomb Counting and the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF).

The software provides an integrated workflow for:

  • Battery data management
  • HPPC pulse detection
  • ECM parameter extraction
  • OCV-SOC characterization
  • Parameter visualization
  • Battery simulation
  • SOC estimation
  • Result analysis and export

Software Workflow

The Battery Software follows a structured workflow that guides the user from battery test data import to model generation, simulation, and SOC estimation.

The typical workflow consists of:

  1. Project Creation
  2. Dataset Upload
  3. Data Validation and Column Mapping
  4. ECM Parameter Extraction
  5. Lookup Table Generation and Validation
  6. Battery Simulation
  7. SOC Estimation
  8. Result Analysis and Export
