What Does the SOC Result Show?

The SOC tab displays the estimated State of Charge (SOC) throughout the simulation. It provides a graphical view of the battery's remaining capacity and allows users to evaluate the performance of the SOC estimation algorithm.

Purpose

Use this tab to:

  • Monitor the estimated battery SOC during simulation.
  • Compare the estimated SOC with the reference SOC, when available.
  • Assess the accuracy and stability of the SOC estimation.

Graph

The SOC graph displays:

  • EKF Estimated SOC – State of Charge estimated using the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF).
  • Reference SOC (if available) – Measured or benchmark SOC used for comparison and validation.

Validation

Review the SOC profile to ensure that:

  • The estimated SOC changes smoothly without abrupt fluctuations.
  • The SOC follows the expected charging or discharging trend.
  • The estimated SOC closely matches the reference SOC, when available.

Significant deviations or unstable behavior may indicate issues with the battery model, input data, or estimator configuration.
